Job Description

Knauf UK & Ireland are a market-leading manufacturer of lightweight building materials for the construction industry. We are part of the Knauf Group, the world’s largest producer of gypsum-based products for the construction industry.With two manufacturing plants in the UK and a state of the art Showroom based in the heart of the A&D Community in Clerkenwell, London - we are well equipped to Build for the World We Live In.We are currently recruiting for a Product Manager to join the business at our Sittingbourne HQ.Job PurposeThe job purpose is to champion and manage a range of products within the Knauf portfolio - maximising the success of these products when measured through volume and profitability by effectively managing the product lifecycle; cradle-to-grave, creating marketing plans and executing product specific marketing. You are also responsible for delivering the annual range review delivery for key product categories in time to feed into the annual Plan of Action (POA).Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Develop category/product strategy
  • Deliver the annual range review for your product categories. Present the range review outcomes and recommendations to the CSG and upon approval activate plans. Present plans to the commercial function annually and provide quarterly updates as necessary.
  • Develop thorough understanding of range including sales performance of each product, position in product lifecycle, and develop and implement plan for each range.
  • Gather market intelligence relevant to range from a variety of internal and external sources in collaboration with the Continuous Data Executive and the Customer Market Managers
  • Make informed recommendations on adding and deleting products from range Manage the product pricing inc amending prices to meet margin/volume aspirations, promotional management and the annual TM1 proces
  • Execute Plans
  • Developing Commercial Programs to deliver against product portfolio objectives and strategies and work with the Communications Team to execute with brilliance in the market, ensuring post evaluation to improve future campaigns/programs
  • Make recommendations for NPD and product extensions based on understanding of market opportunities gathered from the team and manage the development/import of product solutions with robust go-to-market strategy. Set, manage and review product KPIs and recommend and implement corrective measures were required to keep the business on track to achieve its budget within the categories/product portfolio you hold responsibility for.
  • Work with Technical to ensure all product literature, including brochures leaflets, sales presentations, compliance documents are up to date and accurate and inform the sales team of any change
  • Ensure all product packaging is compliant to UK and EU regulations
  • Provide support and cover for our other Product Managers.
  • Requirements
  • Business-related degree would be an advantage
  • Proven experience in a marketing/product management role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management, planning and organisation skills
  • Experience of relationship building at all levels
  • Excellent grasp of numbers / margins / percentages / calculations etc
  • Will be able to demonstrate competence in MS Outlook, Word & Excel. SAP BW preferred and able and willing to learn new packages
