Job Description

Knauf UK & Ireland are a market-leading manufacturer of lightweight building materials for the construction industry. We are part of the Knauf Group, the world’s largest producer of gypsum-based products for the construction industry.With two manufacturing plants in the UK and a state of the art Showroom based in the heart of the A&D Community in Clerkenwell, London - we are well equipped to Build for the World We Live In.We are currently recruiting for an Internal Sales Executive to join the business. The role will see the post holder work from our Sittingbourne Head Quarters.Job PurposeTo be a conduit between our external sales teams and the customer. Providing correct pricing documentation to the customer at the external sales team request, working within the relevant business systems we operate. To meet the agreed service level agreements (SLA’s) and support the external sales teams in pricing decisions as required.Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • You are required to follow company Health and Safety procedures to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
  • As an Internal Sales Executive, your key responsibilities will be as follows:
  • Utilize SAP CRM to promptly raise and amend quotations, add projects, review customer documents & report as required.
  • To input & maintain the CRM database to ensure clean & accurate data at all times.
  • To assist in database development & innovation.
  • Build & maintain strong internal relationships to support the commercial teams & grow sales to enhance Knauf’s position in the market, focusing on non-plasterboard sales and opportunities.
  • Telephone support for external sales staff & management of smaller volume accounts, this may also include some larger distributors where necessary.
  • Utilize customer profitability reporting and segmentation to assist in sales decisions
  • Work in partnership with the Customer Relationship Team to report, amend, copy & optimize customer support documents,
  • Work in partnership with Customer Relationship Team/Finance, assist with invoice queries by customer and area reducing aged debt
  • To work with the Pricing Manager supporting the review/analysis of existing pricing documentation in line with the current business strategy
  • Segment customers to ensure that the external teams responses are targeted prioritized & measured
  • The role would be a conduit between the customer facing teams in the field (majority ASM’s), customer services, Customer Relationship Team, finance and marketing.

  • Requirements:
  • Excellent time management, planning and organization skills
  • Numerate and literate with the ability to calculate percentages, margins and discount structures.
  • A strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience using Salesforce, SAP ERP and CRM systems would be beneficial, creating opportunities, quotations and inputting sales data on a regular basis.
  • Construction knowledge is desirable, but not essential
  • An adaptable individual who embraces change and constantly looks for ways to improve the organisation
  • Customer focused
  • Able to build strong relationships with colleagues and enjoys working in a team environment
