Job Description

Knauf UK & Ireland are a market-leading manufacturer of lightweight building materials for the construction industry. We are part of the Knauf Group, the world’s largest producer of gypsum-based products for the construction industry.With two manufacturing plants in the UK and a state of the art Showroom based in the heart of the A&D Community in Clerkenwell, London - we are well equipped to Build for the World We Live In.We are currently recruiting for a Business Integration Accountant to join the business to be based at our Sittingbourne HQ. The role will be on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract; a target start date is for the 12th October - with interviews taking place w/c 5th October.Job Purpose

  • Lead by example through communication, coaching, challenge and praise to reinforce a strong H&S culture with maximum team involvement
  • Day to day management of the financial accounting function in accordance with corporate policies and procedures
  • Adherence to the financial processes with a focus on governance, compliance and risk management
  • Manage integration team and financial accounting functions from sister company
  • Work closely with and provide support to the Financial Director, Financial Controller, Project Manager and the Finance Team
  • Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
  • You are required to follow company Health and Safety procedures to ensure the safety of yourself and others
  • Overseas all areas of financial controlling including general accounting, payables and receivables for the integration.
  • Process documentation as-is, define and record to-be, attend and produce work instructions / SOPs from training.
  • Train Sittingbourne Team members and manage integration team.
  • Support Sittingbourne team members and perform assigned tasks in line with documented to-be processes.
  • Liaising with service recipient and resolving any queries.
  • External reporting for statutory and regulatory purposes
  • Internal and external audit relationships.
  • Support with the preparation of month end internal reporting pack
  • Treasury management including banking and credit line relationships and administration, working capital management, cash flow management and control
  • Credit management
  • Balance sheet control, management and reporting
  • Maintenance of the fixed asset register, accounting for depreciation, ensuring group policies and accounting standards are adhered to.
  • Financial management of GRNI
  • Posting of month end and year end journals.
  • Taxation reporting for VAT, intrastat, transfer pricing.
  • Preparing the analysis for corporation tax and other taxation calculations as required.
  • Company secretarial, administration and compliance
  • Anything commensurate to complete your role
  • Requirements:
  • Professional accounting qualification with at least 5 years post qualified experience in financial accounting role
  • Experience of working within SSC and business integrations desirable.
  • Proven track record in staff management and training
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required to build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Process orientation approach with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to probe and challenge processes.
  • Proactive well organized style with the ability to respond to changing business needs
  • SAP experience desirable
