Job Description

Our agency have had the pleasure of having cotingient labour for the National Probation Service and CRCs across the country. Our agency are recruiting for 3 qualified Probation Officers to work over in Ipswich.The role is a contract for will involve carrying a caseload of medium risk offendersMain duties and responsibilities -

  • Assessing the risk of harm presented by offenders;
  • Producing a sentence plan to manage risk and address needs;
  • Monitoring and co-ordinating the implementation of the sentence plan much of which may be implemented by others;
  • Taking enforcement action where the offender does not comply;
  • Assessing which offenders’ needs should be addressed to reduce the risk of re-offending and what steps need to be taken to reduce any risk of harm;
  • Working with offenders to analyse their behaviour;
  • Risk Management including balancing the needs of the offender against the safety and concerns of victims and the community;
  • Determining sentence plans including programmes of intervention designed to reduce the risk of re-offending in the future;
  • Sentence implementation including arranging interventions designed to meet sentence requirements and plans;
  • Database and record management;
  • Meeting regularly with a varied caseload of offenders from the beginning to the end of their programmes;
  • Liaison with Criminal Justice Agencies and related bodies including provision of reports to court;
    • A Current DBS is required for this role, which we can process for you, along with a relevant qualification - DipPS, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent of another Probation or Social Work related qualification.If you would like to be considered for this position and have the relevant experience then please apply below.Alternatively, if this role is not for you but you do know somebody who would be interested please refer them.
