Job Description

Samples Technician – Spider is advertising on behalf of amulti-award-winning manufacturer and supplier of innovative, natural, and organic ingredients for flavours and fragrances and to the food, beverage, cosmetic and toiletry markets. They are seeking an experienced Samples Technician to join our team at Great Blakenham, Suffolk.Reporting to the Creative Director, the Samples Technician is responsible for small scale manufacturing of flavour samples, sample dispatch and sample stock maintenance. The Sample Technician also assists in maintaining the flavour library and evaluation of all Incoming laboratory samples.Your other key duties will include:

  • Packing and shipping of flavour samples, including weighing, bottling, and labelling all sample dispatches
  • Handle all incoming samples
  • Data inputting of all incoming and outgoing samples to provide traceability information
  • Preparation for customer visits and industry exhibitions
  • Liaison with both Technical, Procurement and Sales team
  • Ensuring stock of raw materials and core flavour samples is kept up to date
  • Support in manufacturing flavour builds in production
  • Supporting Key Account Managers to provide sample requests
  • Assist in Quality Control of flavour builds and raw materials
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised lab environment in accordance with EH&S policies
    • Our ideal candidate will have:Qualifications:
  • Maths, English, and Science GCSE graded A-C
  • Relevant Scientific background, such as a Science or Food qualification (desired)
    • Experience:
  • Relevant demonstratable experience gained in a similar role
  • Capable of managing own workload and confident in liaising at all levels in the business
  • Knowledge and experience of a flavours processing or manufacturing environment (desired)
  • Previous experience of working within standards i.e. ISO, BRC
    • Skills & Knowledge:
