JOB AD:QA Technician - 12-month contract£12 per hourLocation: IpswichJob Summary;This role will be working as part of the Operations team, and will be the first point of contact for supporting the management of Quality issues and the management of non-conformance processes.The successful candidate will take ownership of Calibration of all metrology equipment across the building, so equipment is tracked and accurately measured against a known standard.Candidate will also be the first contact for Quality Management System (QMS) documentation including format checking, loading and launching for approval.This role would suit someone with a high level of organisation and attention to detail, with intermediate computer literacy (able to extract reports from various databases and analyse data in Excel) who is looking to develop their knowledge of Quality systems and processes in a complex, technical manufacturing environment.Main ResponsibilitiesWorking with Cell Leads / Supervisors / Engineers to ensure that non-conformances are managed in accordanceManaging Calibration database in Q-Pulse to ensure that calibration data is current and that equipment lists due for calibration are highlighted in a timely manner.Main contact within QA for adding documentation which is key to the smooth running of all functions within the QMS.Supports QA Engineers with preparation of documents in readiness for new guidance or Technical Review (TR) gates.Carrying out audits as part of our company QA internal audit team, creating audit finding reports, issuing report findings to action owners.Supporting Process Engineering / Production with the Defect Tracking System (DTS), Out of Control Action Plans (OCAPs), Statistical Process Control (SPC) violations in order to maintain a consistent response and thorough investigation when required.Ensuring that Corrective Action & Preventative Action (CAPA) owners are suitably supported during 8D investigations to enable timely closure of DTS tickets.Working closely with action owners to ensure that key corrective actions that benefit continual improvement, are adequately resourced and are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Timebound (SMART). Ability to escalate to senior management if action closure requires additional support to prevent avoidable overdue reporting.Administrative support for QHSE Manager for facilitating statutory inspections/visits or training.Skills/QualificationsEssentialWorking knowledge of the importance of effective Calibration systems within a production environmentAbility to close the loop with action ownersCustomer focussedGood oral and written communication skillsAssertiveness - the ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholdersMicrosoft Office for producing documents and metrics (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)Ability to meet deadlines and identify efficient ways of workingDesirableWorking knowledge of ISO9001Knowledge of 8D, Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA), Fishbone AnalysisIQA/CQI certificate or equivalentUKAS accredited internal auditor trainedExperienced in Risk Management such as Failure Mode Effects AnalysisDemonstrable understanding of the criticality of accurate metrology and the importance of traceable calibration recordsExperience of working with databases such as MS Access or Q-PulseExperience working in a III-V semi-conductor fabrication or manufacturing cleanroom environment
