My client, a leading global ICT infrastructure solutions provider is recruiting For a product engineer for for their Research and Development centre based in Ipswich.This company is developing leading edge optoelectronic devices for the next generation of communications networks, focusing on high end product development, manufacture and advanced technology research.As a yield and product engineer you will be part of the Operations Engineering team to support the business in delivering products to meet technical specifications and timelines. You will work in the clean room as well as lab areas, to support R & D and manufacturing wafers. You will work closely with facility/equipment engineers as well as integration / test /reliability engineers to initiate, drive and manage yield improvement projects to meet new device requirements for future technology.Main responsibilitiesHas font line responsibility for pass/fail of wafers through lot validation processesOwns the parametric yield of specified product or a product family in productionOwns the internal parametric performance specification of the productDevelop the understanding of causes of parametric failure in product, and uses this knowledge to work with process engineers to drive yield improvementOwns the responsibility for ensuring parametric yield excursions Develop the understanding of causes of parametric failure in product, and uses this knowledgeto work with process engineers to drive yield improvement;Ensures that products being accepted into production are para metrically stableEstablish systems and procedures to prevent yield excursions and quickly identify issues.Implement effective inline defect inspection/monitoring/control strategy & methodology tosupport advanced technology developmentFormulate and drive process improvement plan based on systematic analysis ofinline/ET/yield data to meet quality and yield targets.Evaluate defect inspection/review effectiveness from leading edge E-beam, Bright and Darkfield Defect Inspection and SEAM review tools for advanced technology introductionCollaborate with design engineering, process engineering and/or package engineering tocorrect the product defect or weakness and to improve the product reliability.Design, execute and analyse partition studies to evaluate process results or equipmentbaseline performances with a view to achieve industry competitive standardsMaintain statistical process control (SPCA) charts of in line defect control charts to establish astable and robust processing platform. Monitor process output data records against specs,and make necessary process corrections and adjustments.Interfacing to design and testing teams (spec reviews, FMEA etc.)Document defect metro logy tool operation and process details and write standard ofprocedures (SOPs)Deploy change control processes as required.Any other ad hoc duty as requested by the line manager and/or process engineering manager.Skills/QualificationsEssentialFab experience in process engineering / process development/ yieldimprovementExperience with defect metrology tools and analysisGood dexterity for handling InP wafers and samples.Track record in using structured problem solving techniquesDegree in relevant subject, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, Chemical Engineering,Electronic Engineering etc.Knowledge and experience of SPC processes.DesirableExperience in setting up successful design of experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis.Above undergraduate, preferably a PhD in relevant subjects.Good knowledge of InP based materials and photonic processesHigh level proficiency in SPC, 6s techniques and gauge R&R studies.Roevin acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
