Job Description

Ocean Import Coordinator, IpswichFull Time - Permanent - 09:00-17:30Competitive Salary (DOE) and excellent benefits packageTLP Recruitment are delighted to be working with this award winning, multinational logistics company in their search for an Ocean Import Coordinator to work within their busy operational department.You will be joining a growing ocean Import team looking after the importation of client products from across the world. You will become part of a thriving and successful company offering plenty of opportunity for progression and development for the rightcandidate. You will receive the training required to become a specialist customs broker within international trade, allowing you to be one of many highly skilled and valued colleagues within this friendly and professional business.Role Outline:

  • Daily communication with clients from booking stage to final delivery including close cooperation with other departments to understand requirements and to provide second to none logistics solutions
  • Expertly handling day to day import ocean freight operations
  • Import Customs processes and formalities
  • Building and maintaining client relations for continued business with customers
  • Confirming delivery requirements and arranging with the Transport Team
  • Supporting customers with general customs advice
  • Identifying clients who will benefit from using the online tracking portal
  • Creation of customs and import documentation
  • Work effectively with HMRC and other customs authorities
What you will need:
  • Experience within a similar role or industry preferred
  • Customs clearance knowledge/experience advantageous (our client is looking to grow their busy team so are looking for relevant skills and experience that can be developed and built upon)
  • Competence in handling/submitting additional customs documentation, certificates or licences
  • Knowledge of Tariffs, Bonded customs, Special/Simplified Customs Procedures
  • Understanding of AEO Procedures
  • General Customs Compliance and Understanding of Inco Terms
  • Additional declarations for specific destinations and origins
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Proactive with a strong work ethic
