Job Description

Finance Manager - Spider is advertising on behalf of a highly successful family-run business based near Halesworth, Suffolk. They have been producing and supplying high-quality products to restaurants and hotels for three generations. From humble beginnings as a small independent farm, they have grown and developed the business over the last 50 years. They love what they do and endeavour to supply the finest quality products at competitive prices, coupled with the highest standards of customer care. They are now looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join them.The role of Finance Manager has been created for a finance professional to provide readily available data for the rest of the management team to take responsibility for every aspect of the company’s financial performance.Other key duties include:

  • Publish management accounts within 10 business days of month-end
  • Develop publication of easily accessible dashboard of KPIs
  • Manage internet banking
  • Ensure the appropriate financial controls and processes are in place and documented
  • Arrange year-end audit and corporation tax compliance
  • Contribute to the creation, progress towards, and monitor against 5-year strategy
  • Create and maintain a 5-year forecast model
  • Inform the board of financial implications of significant decisions including capex
  • Optimise use of working capital, including stock levels
  • Be the champion of the ERP system (LV) to ensure optimal use is made of it
  • Maintain cash flow forecast for 8 weeks rolling
  • Manage payroll, VAT, payroll tax compliance
  • Measure effectiveness of investment decisions
  • Review BOMs, labour costs, production routings
  • Oversee management and reconciliation of sales and purchase ledgers

  • Well qualified by experience
  • Intermediate user of Excel
  • Experience of working in a business with inventory
  • Strong IT literacy
    • Desirable
  • Use of LV
  • Accounting qualification
  • Experience of the food or hospitality sectors
