Job Description

Job Title: DraughtspersonLocation: AberdeenshireJoin a dynamic and established engineering business based in Aberdeenshire. FINTEC Recruit is looking for a Draughtsperson to be a vital part of our growing team. This is a permanent role with a competitive salary, ranging from approximately £40,000 to £50,000, along with attractive benefits.Responsibilities:

  • Create CAD designs, 3D models, and technical drawings to support the daily tasks of fabricators and welders.
  • Translate designs into production data for CNC profiling equipment and CNC Robotic 3D profiler, streamlining part preparation for fabricators.
  • Provide support to project teams throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concepts and preliminary sketches to design, verification, and production fabrication drawings.
  • Interpret client drawings and models, including 3D modeling using specialized software and Autodesk Inventor.
  • Assist in nesting plate profiles using AutoCAD and dedicated internal software for CNC Plasma Profiler.
Skills and Qualifications Required for the Draughtsperson role:-
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling using Autodesk Inventor, covering part and assembly structures.
  • Knowledge of structural analysis within Inventor is advantageous.
  • Competent in producing workshop and fabrication-ready drawings.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and various drawing-related media.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Understanding of welding symbols, their meaning, and practical applications for weld preparations.
  • Practical mechanical aptitude is desirable.
  • Capability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • IT literacy, including Microsoft Office.
  • An engineering qualification is advantageous.
  • Preferred qualifications in technical drawing and/or computer-aided draughting and design.
