This role is part of the continued evolution of a law practice with a proud history of over 100 years as a Teesside institution.Where you fit inYoull take over the reins from their Accounts Manager who is retiring after many years of dedicated service.With a deep-rooted reputation amongst the areas private and business communities, the firm has invested gradually in recent years to continue to raise their profile and serve their clients better.Thats where you fit in.Your brief will be to complete key finance tasks and to provide the team of six Partners with information to help them to continue to develop the firm.The challenge aheadSupported by an assistant, youll need to develop systems and processes to establish monthly management accounting and payroll procedures.Youll take a hands-on approach and get involved with day-to-day client and office accounting tasks as well and confidently managing cashflow and budgets.Reporting to the Managing Partner, youll take the accounting function from a well-oiled support team to a department that adds even greater value.About youYoull be a skilled finance or accounting professional with experience in management accounts preparation and analysis. You may not hold a chartered accounting qualification but ideally, youll be an Accounting Technician having completed the AAT qualification to level 4.Youll be looking for an opportunity where you can influence change. Theres a great challenge here and youll be considering a long-term move where youll become part of a close-knit team, not just the next step on your career ladder.If youve not yet worked in a law firm and dont have a knowledge of solicitors accounting rules or SRA audits, youll need to be open to learning these.
