Job Description

Can you adapt to various scenarios and challenges Are you approachable, a strong communicator and can work well with others We are passionate about delivering an excellent service to our customers & following the growth of our Forest products business,we are seeking the right candidate to become our Business & Operations Manager for this team.We are looking for an individual who has at least 3 years experience, in either a customer service or operational role, within a warehousing and transport environment. Youll need to be driven by process improvements, capable of working in a dynamic andfluid environment and able to develop relationships with customers. We are looking for a hardworking, self-motivated individual, who can work under their own initiative, but also have fun and laughter with colleagues.The role will interest those with highdemands to deliver exceptional customer service. We need you to have a flexible and adaptable mind-set, enjoy problem solving, which can include dealing with operational challenges, whilst delivering on agreed targets.Youll be responsible for leading & motivating your team, tasked with safeguarding, and enhancing the service level offered by DFDS, through collaboration with other departments and surpassing our customer expectations. Ideally you will hold a qualificationwithin the supply chain field i.e., logistics, customer service, forwarding. It can be a full-on busy role, so if youre looking for a challenge where every day is different, this could be the opportunity for you.Main responsibilities of the role:

  • Managing a team. including leadership, engagement, communication, coaching and mentoring, recruitment, resource planning
  • Responsible for ensuring all forest product customers receive an excellent level of service.
  • Key account management, regular review meetings, performance KPIs
  • Working closely with strategic sales and commercial teams to grow the business
  • Onboarding new customers
  • Problem solving and process improvements
  • Producing reports and analysis to aid managing the metals customers
  • Quotations and rate reviews - Credit control / invoicing queries
  • Collaboration with operational and transport teams
  • Lead in digitalisation projects to drive our business forward
  • Monitoring and acting upon changes in customer behaviours - Understanding customers requirements and pain points
  • Profit and Loss control
  • Point of contact for internal stakeholders i.e., shipping routes, warehouses
  • Project management
