Job Description

JOB TITLE: Trainee Purchasing AdministratorLOCATION: Ilminster, SomersetSALARY: Up to £25,000 PA DOEHOURS: Monday - Friday (37.5 hours)BENEFITS: 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, established and reputable company, friendly and welcoming team environment, person-centred company with good core values, bright, modern, and spacious offices with good kitchen facilities,free car parking.THE COMPANY: You will be joining an established and specialist company who produce high spec products.THE ROLE: To order items cost effectively and efficiently for stock and maintain continuity of supply and maximising on time in and in full service level to the customer. You will be working with both internal and external stakeholders tohelp achieve this.KEY DUTIES:

  • Ensuring stock availability to meet production requirements and customer demands
  • Placing orders on the system for required parts in line with demand and supplier lead-times
  • Processing confirmed order delivery dates and prices into the system
  • Liaising with suppliers to achieve timely delivery dates and monitoring late/overdue lines/orders and action accordingly
  • Effective stock management to not adversely impact company working capital
  • Problem solving and resolving issues or discrepancies relating to orders or supply (price, quantity, quality, delivery etc.)
  • Highlighting any supply issues to the Supply Chain Manager
  • Maintaining strong supplier relationships
  • Maintaining supplier records
  • Participating and carrying out other activities as deemed necessary by department head
