Job Description

HEAD CHEF REQUIRED FOR A CARE HOME BASED IN ILMINSTER, SOMERSET - £12.00 - £13.00 PER HOUR (DoE) - FULL TIME PERMANENT POSITION

About the homeThis beautiful, friendly Care Home, based in Ilminster, Somerset is seeking an experiencedHead Chef.Main responsibilitiesasa Head ChefHome-made cooking with fresh vegetables cooked every day, plus breakfast and suppers to a high standard required, nutritious food.
  • Experienced in Stock Control, Budget Monitoring & Environmental Health Requirements
  • Ability to manage the small catering team
  • Good knowledge of Food Hygiene, Health & Safety and Infection Control
  • Ability to cater up to 30-35 residents and staff per day, offering excellent cuisine including soft meals and special dietary requirements.
  • Ability to assist to plan, design and update menus for the home.
  • Ability to adhere to the homes policies and procedures and make sure the team are as well.
  • Ensuring the Kitchen is kept in good working order at all times ensuring Health & Safety and Food Hygiene standards within the kitchen are adhered too.
Skills/Qualifications/Requirements for the Head Chef role
  • Previous experience in a care home or hospital or school is desirable.
  • Ideally will have an up to date Food Hygiene Certificate/COSHH Awareness
