Job Description

Position: Supply Chain ManagerLocation: Derby or Coleshill with agile workingSalary: £75-85k (Neg DOE), car/allowance, bonus and excellent benefits packageOur Client: Is an integrated design and build solution provider operating in the water sector. They have over 1,000 staff working across eight regional centres, primarily supporting six long term water sector frameworks operating both on their own and increasinglyin joint ventures and alliances.They are delivering on behalf of Severn Trent, one of the largest and most varied water non-infrastructure improvement programmes in the UK.The Role: Develop and deliver the Severn Trent framework procurement strategy including management of the regional team and maintain central procurement responsibilities such as management of category frameworks.Responsibilities: Develop and deliver the strategic direction for the regionResponsible for materials, plant and subcontract spendAct as main interface with Client procurement departmentResponsible for proactively managing client mandatory frameworksResponsible for reporting requirements to regional SLT and central management teams.Set and monitor departmental service level agreements/performance measuresAssist with the setting of departmental budgets.Monitor the department budgets to ensure high quality efficient delivery against business targetsSet and monitor resource levels, workload and recovery ratesManage the procurement process, ensuring compliance with processes, policies and procedures.Take part in both internal and external audits, responsible for resolving any findingsWork with central procurement to manage the maintenance of an approved supplier databaseEnsure that the supply chain is competent in health and safety, quality and environmental managementUnderstand and implement the quality, safety and environmental policies and targetsMonitor the performance of suppliers, intervening where necessary, to ensure that the company continues to use those providing the best delivery service levelsResolve supplier performance issues and disputesIdentify team resource issues and performance issues and advise senior leadershipAdvise on development needs for current and future roles required within the department.Ensure proactive support of Client procurement initiatives including attendance at collaborative workshops and buying forums as required.Champion the use of the internal procurement system (IFS).Promote/uphold corporate vision and valuesEnsure your own continuous professional development by participating in external networking/conferences/associations/groups, to stay current on industry changes and innovations.Maintain a positive and solution oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this roleIn all internal and external contact, present a professional and positive image of the department as well as maintaining mutually constructive, positive and beneficial relationships.Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentialityResponsible for a team consisting of Assistant Buyers, Buyers and Senior BuyersExperience: Essential:Minimum of 5 years senior level experience of Procurement and Supply Chain in the construction/utility industryManagement/leadership experienceAbility to work to deadlines and prioritise work in a demanding and commercially complex environmentComputer literate (use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Desirable:Process industry experienceDegree level qualificationHealth and Safety, Quality and Environmental qualificationsSupplier auditing and expediting expertiseIFS knowledge and experienceCIPS full membership qualificationPackages includes: A competitive salaryCar/car allowance (subject to role and level of position)25 days holiday + Bank Holidays (with an additional 5 days available to buy)Contribution Pension schemeLife Assurance, Health Insurance and Private medical InsuranceMany more benefits including cycle to work scheme, discounts and savings Hub, kids pass etcKey Words:Supply Chain ManagerSupply Chain ManagementProcurement ManagerProcurement ManagementProcurement StrategyPurchasing StrategyCategory ManagementSupplier ManagementConstructionUtilitiesWater IndustryWater SectorWater TreatmentWastewaterWaste WaterSewageProcess IndustryCIPS
