Multi-Skilled Maintenance TechnicianIlkeston DerbyHighly Competitive Salary + Excellent Benefits PackageWith a fantastic history and superb growth over recent years, my client is one of the UKs premier plastics manufacturers, recyclers and distributors, with a footprint that covers the whole of the UK.As experts in their industry they’ve shown dynamic development and innovation, and lead the industry in their service, range of products and attention to detail.Due to an excellent and sustainable order book, along with investment in modern manufacturing facilities they are now looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician to join an existing maintenance team at their impressive Ilkeston facility.The RoleAs a Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician your role will include aspects of planned and preventative maintenance, along with responding to equipment issues as they arise. Typically this will involve 70% electrical and 30% mechanical activities.The variety in what youll work on is also a definite plus in this role, with no two days being exactly the same.This position requires 4 on 4 off shift system, alternating between days and nights, which benefits from a good shift allowance.A taster of what you can typically expect includes:• Maintaining manufacturing equipment (planned, preventative, breakdown) which includes DC motors and process control equipment• Electrical installation work and/or mechanical installation work.• Fault finding issues on industrial and process control systems.• Carry out electrical and mechanical repairs on PVCu extrusion plant and associated equipment.• Working closely with others in the maintenance team, as well as with contractors and suppliers.• Ordering of new/replacement equipment and recording any subsequent issues.• Issuing and monitoring of work permits and related documentationThe PersonThe key things youre going to need in order to be considered for this Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician role:• Sufficient Mechanical and Electrical installation and maintenance experience gained in a manufacturing environment (essential)• Recognised electrical/mechanical maintenance apprenticeship/training scheme or sufficient experience and relevant qualifications• Proven problem solving skills and good communication skills, along with a determination to do a good job• An ability to read, understand and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings• Experience within the maintenance and repair of PLC systems would be ideal but similar will be considered• Full UK Driving licenseThe RewardsThis is a superb opportunity to work for a major player in the industry and one with an enviable order book and a brilliant future.
