Job Description

Lead Structural TechnicianIlkeston, Derbyshire£28,000 - £40,000 per annumFord & Stanley - The Rail Recruitment Specialists are currently recruiting for a leading Structural Investigation Consultancy who specialise in structural inspection, investigation, maintenance and repair in the Rail, Highways, Waterways and Utility sectors. We are currently looking for an experienced Technician / Inspector with experience working with Network Rail structures to join their ever growing team, on a permanent basis.This role provides a challenging, varied workload for the succesful candidate, with excellent future career prospects.Key responsibilities

  • Carry out structural investigations and inspection works on a variety of structures, including bridges, gantries, culverts and roads/highways.
  • The succesfull candidate must be able to work independently without supervision, and take responsibility for some aspects of project management.
  • Carry out non-destructive testing on various different concrete structures.
  • Complete devegatation/general maintainence on a variety of site.
  • Organise specialist access for hard to reach sites.
  • Write reports using several methods, including handwrittin reports, or via SMIS and Agile Asset.
  • Train junior members of staff.
  • Skills, experience and qualifications
  • Candidate must be STE4 competent.
  • Hold a valid PTS/Sentinel Card.
  • Have previous experience working on Rail and Highways England based projects.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Have good report writing skills and be computer literate.
  • Ideal candidate will have valid COSS or SSSTS.
  • Candidates must be willing to work nights/weekends when necessary (overtime rates paid)
