Job Description

Electrical Maintenance Fitter£36,500 basic + overtime at enhanced rates & other benefits£18.00 earlies and lates and £23.94 per hour nights (20000500)IlkestonThe CompanyWith a fantastic heritage in Derbyshire, and positive development over the years, youll be working for a well-respected employer with an impressive order book and a great name in the industry.Due to continued expansion they are now looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Electrical Fitter to join an established maintenance team, and to keep the wheels turning via planned and preventative maintenance across heavy machinery and site equipment.The RoleWorking over a 3-shift rotating system (Monday to Friday, with weekends being at enhanced rates), which includes earlies, lates and a night shift that runs from 8pm to 5am, youll be responsible for maintaining the electrical equipment and machinery at theheavier end of the scale.Other things youll be involved with include:

  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems found in site plant, buildings, and manufacturing machines.
  • Utilising wiring diagrams, schematics, and similar blueprints to install new equipment and maintain existing plant.
  • Troubleshooting and identifying issues using typical test equipment
  • Advising others when any legacy (old) equipment is beyond economic repair and working on projects to install replacement equipment and plant.
  • Working to national safety standards and UK regulations, as well as being HSQE aware
  • Recording activities and maintaining good stock of spares and consumables.
  • Working closely with the mechanical team to complete agreed work.
The PersonYou can tell that this role requires experience and solid electrical knowledge, so youll need a few things in your locker to be considered.
  • Suitably qualified and experienced within electrical fitting and maintenance.
  • Exposure to heavier machinery, such as those used in aggregates, waste management, concrete, bricks, materials handling etc.
  • An ability to work from schematics and electrical drawings / instructions.
  • An ability to work to maintenance schedules and timeframes.
  • Planned and preventive maintenance experience, as well as responding to breakdowns.
  • An ability to communicate with others in the business, both spoken and via the written word, in clear conversational and technical terms
  • 18th Edition (BS7671)
  • Be happy with working the 3-shift pattern, Monday to Friday
  • Solid H&S mindset
