Job detailsPay£17.50 per hourJob type* Full-time* PermanentNumber of openings for this position* 1Schedule* 12-hour shift* 4 on 4 offJob descriptionJob Purpose:Carry out electrical diagnosis on any deck issues.Carry out routine electrical maintenance and repairs on our double deck trailers.Make any structural alterations, modifications or repairs to fleet vehicles or infrastructure around the depots as required in line with safe working practices and guidelines.Specific Responsibilities and Objectives* Make any structural alterations, modifications or repairs working with materials that are required to be melted, heated or fused.To ensure all work completed is recorded in electronic and paperwork format as required, thereby ensuring that a full audit trail of work completed is available for inspection at all times.* Complete relevant paperwork to comply with health and safety and food safety standards and to track the service provided.To ensure that on completion of all works within fridge trailers the trailer is left in a condition which will not affect food safety. Provide excellent customer service with a proactive attitude* Operate relevant MHE (if applicable/permitted & authorised) safely and by the correct procedures* Report any accidents as soon as possible and in compliance with Buffaload Logistics accident reporting procedure* Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the Uniform Guidelines and Health and Safety Policy* Promote a positive health and safety culture through your actions. Carry out other relevant reasonable management requests as required by your Line Manager Interfaces Internal* Drivers, Driver Representatives, Planning, Operations and Transport teams, the Training Department and other relevant internal employees External* Statutory Duties:* Co-operate with your employer to enable any legal obligations to be complied with* Do not recklessly interfere with anything provided by the employer or others in the interests of health, safety or welfare* Bring to the attention of your line manager any perceived shortcomings in health and safety arrangements, situations or processes that you consider to be serious or which may present danger to you or others* Do not undertake or request others to undertake any works for which you/they do not hold the required competency or authority to undertake, or use equipment not trained or CF 041/C - Welder - Fabricator Page 2 of 3 authorised to use* To work safely at all times to ensure the safety of yourself and others. Work to a clean-as-you-go policy at all times. Where your role involves the control, administration and/or handling of food products you must ensure that product safety, legality and quality systems are adhered to at all times. Document Issue and Access Requirements* Access to relevant paper and electronic medium references required to confirm compliance and continuous improvement Qualifications:* Core* You will need knowledge of deck repairs- electrical and mechanical* City & Guilds 1,2,3 NVQ Levels 2 or 3 Desirable* Other relevant industry qualifications Experience: Core* Desirable:* Previous experience working within a similar role, business and/or industry Other Criteria: Core* Excellent communication and customer service skills; towards colleagues and customers* Must be physically active due to the nature of the role; dealing with heavy goods* Must be fluent in English due to the nature of the role; being in constant communication with Planning teams, Operations teams and customers both in person and on the phone.
