Job Description

Circa £35k, salary dependant on skills and experiencePermanent 37 Hours / Full timeHome working and an Anglian Water office, ideally Huntingdon or PeterboroughAnglian Water offers a flexible approach, this role provides you the flexibility to work from home and from an Anglian Water office. Were proud to have been voted as the best place to work in the UK and to be winners of the prestigious Utility of the Year award.Help us to shape a sustainable future for the region!We currently have a great opportunity for a Spatial Planning Advisor to join our Strategic Growth and Infrastructure team and support Anglian Water as a leading infrastructure provider in spatial planning.We cover one of the fastest growing areas of the country but also one of the driest, environmentally sensitive and one of the most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. As an essential infrastructure provider we are vital to ensuring new houses andbusiness can be built in a sustainable manner. We cannot achieve this alone; sharing resources and building the evidence for plan making through strong partnerships is vital for success. To truly shape sustainable growth and development, and to help improveour natural environment, we firmly believe we need to be proactive and create innovative approaches with local authorities, developers and communities.Reporting to the Spatial Planning Manager you will be responsible for using knowledge of the environment and the town and country planning system to represent Anglian Waters role as an infrastructure provider and the interests of our customers. Throughestablishing and maintaining excellent working relationships with external stakeholders, and across the business, you will effectively influence the preparation of local planning policies, including coordinating our responses to local plan and neighbourhoodplan consultations, alongside supporting our engagement on nationally significant infrastructure projects.As a valued employee, youll be entitled to:

What does it take to be a Spatial Planning Advisor
  • You will be educated to degree level in an environmental and planning related discipline and it would be advantageous to either have a post graduate planning qualification or be studying towards one.
  • An understanding of the water sector is desirable but not essential.
  • You will be able to influence and build relationships with key stakeholders, take creative approaches to tacking challenges and be able to work on your initiative.
