Job Description

Salary - up to £39,000 dependent on skills & experience The finance team here at Anglian Water have embarked on a transformation journey so that the team is able to operate as efficiently and effectively as possible in the future. Reorganising the team is our first step on this journey as a result we have a number of exiting opportunities to apply for.Come and join us as a Senior Financial Planning Analyst where youll be a key part of a central function providing budgeting, forecasting and internal reporting for one of the leading providers of water and water recycling services in the UK. What will you be doing As a Senior Financial Planning Analyst, youll be working within a team responsible for budgeting, forecasting and internal reporting, including variance analysis for operational expenditure, capital expenditure and cash. Collaborating with the Financial Planning Manager, youll prepare accurate, timely and user-friendly reports for opex, capex and cash budgets providing insight and analysis within your business area.With extensive knowledge of your business area, youll gather relevant and informative variance analysis to add to our standard reports so that individual budget holders are able to make informed decisions. Having a meticulous approach, being able to adapt and challenge is key in this role as youll ensure individual budgets are closely managed and monitored to ensure effective TOTEX management. With your strong communication, excellent interpersonal skills and analytical expertise, youll have the ability to translate budgets and what they represent to non-financial stakeholders. What do you need

  • Extensive experience of management accounting or handling large datasets.
  • Understanding of modern FP&A techniques
  • Comfortable with IT and keen to develop FP&A IT skills in Tagetik, Power BI / data analytical tools, MS Office, SAP etc. or strong desire to learn and use those tools
  • Have the ability to manage own workload and work within tight deadlines
  • Good attention to detail and a desire to drive process improvements
  • Excellent communication skills including ability to communicate financial information to non-financial managers
  • Sound analytical skills
  • Ability to adapt and challenge
