Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to join our clients expanding team in Huntingdon as a School Finance Officer. This role will assist the Trust Accountant in supporting, processing, and preparing accountingdata for the training organisations within the Trust. This is a dynamic role with responsibility for a variety of tasks from monthly supplier payments, payroll administration, and plenty more between.Client DetailsThe client is one of the most respected and admired Mutli-Academy Trusts in the Country. They are committed to high quality professional development and career opportunities for all their staff.DescriptionThe School Finance Officer will have oversight of the basic accountancy functions such as:

  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of financial systems and processes
  • Production and analysis of figures for the accountants for departmental heads
  • Auditing accounts
  • Invoices
  • Expenses claims
  • Payroll
ProfileThe ideal School Finance Officer candidate will have:
  • Experience working in an administrative or accounting environment
  • Have a working knowledge of accounts payable/receivable in conjunction with PSF or equivalent accounting software
  • Possess the ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines effectively whilst maintaining high attention to detail.
  • Strong system skills with confidence and experience in picking up new accountancy systems.
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks Effective team working skills, including flexibility and adaptability.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to work to monthly deadlines.
  • Awareness of and compliance with policies and procedures relating to child protection, safeguarding and safe working practices, equal opportunities, health and safety, security, confidentiality and data protection.
