Job Description

Production Supervisor (Electronics)Meyer Scott Ref: VR/08586Salary: £28,000 -£32,000 per annumLocation: St Ives, CambridgeshireType: PermanentThis is a fantastic opportunity for a Production Supervisor with a leading based Electronics Manufacturer with established customer partnerships across a range of industry sectors.Our client is accredited in Investors in People, ISO9001 and ISO140001.Reporting to the Head of Production, the role will provide effective supervision of the Assembly and Test areas to ensure customer and business requirements are consistently achieved.The successful applicant will have current and proven experience working within the electronics manufacturing industry.

  • Provide effective supervision and line management of the Production Assembly and Test Departments.
  • Maintain communication with all stakeholders (Sales, Quality, Engineering, Logistics, HR etc.) with daily direct reporting to the Head of Operations.
  • Maintain daily production communications on all topics of relevance to direct production staff i.e. General performance, Quality, issues and concerns, employee welfare, 5S, NPI feedback, customer feedback, company notices etc.
  • Actively support and engage with team members in all assembly activities (PCB assembly, soldering, SMT AOI, Reflow, Inspection etc.) so as to build team trust and respect and participation in achieving common goals.
  • Perform company performance appraisals for all direct line reports.
  • Short-term production planning and resource allocation across SMT and Conventional assembly ensuring on-time delivery of high-quality product to customers.
  • Identification of development and training needs within the production department, planning and implementation of staff training as well as performance management and assessments enabling our client to meet its business objectives.
  • Raise requisitions relating to production procurement of tools and equipment and various consumables.
  • Ensure regular audits are conducted and routine preventative maintenance and calibration activities are undertaken, e.g., ESD, test equipment, PAT testing, soldering irons etc.
  • Drive production related projects and Kaizens whilst identifying changes to working methods and processes to improve quality and efficiency with the view to reducing waste and costs.
  • Maintain and update related production process documentation in accordance with ISO9001 and the businesses QMS and documentation standards.
  • Motivate and drive flexibility in terms of skills ensuring that staff can carry out all key critical assembly tasks and related functions in the business.
Additional Information:
  • The successful applicant will have current and proven experience working within the electronics manufacturing industry.
  • The applicant should have at least 3 years supervisory or management experience in a similar environment.
  • Looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated and reliable candidates to join the team, you must be computer literate in all the basic packages with a desire to achieve continuous improvements and good attention to detail.
  • You must be able to work independently and as part of a small cohesive team.
  • It is not essential to be competent in all areas of the job description as training can be given, although there needs to be experience in some of the relevant skills
Hours: Monday to Thursday 08.00 - 16.45 and Friday 08.00 - 12.30.Benefits: Free car park, pension which we contribute 3% and profit related bonus.
