Job Description

We recently announced plans to invest £6.5 billion to protect our regions water supplies over the coming years.Our Information Services team is currently undergoing a transformation which will enhance the services it delivers and ensure they are best positioned to play a proactive and value orientated role across our business.Our goal is to exceed customer expectations whilst embracing new technology to drive digital transformation; better connecting our customers, people, assets and information.As part of this transformation we are recruiting for a number of new and exciting roles within our Information Services team.What will you be doingTo help us produce exciting and innovative digital products to drive business transformation we are looking for a Product Owner to join Digital Services.The Product Owner leads a product engineering team and has sole accountability for maximising the value of their work. The role bridges across business and product development, translating strategy and vision into tactical delivery. Ultimately, you have accountability for the feature set of your product, look and feel, pace of delivery and reliability.Youll be working with key stakeholders at Anglian Water, understand what success looks like, and provide that vision and context to the product engineering team. Youll be building confidence, ensuring our stakeholders understand how Agile maximises value and lowers risk, and through successful execution of sprint goals.The role holder leads the product team. Youll need to understand the work of: User Experience, User Research, User Interface, Scrum Master and Software Engineers and other technical roles. Youll also have experience of the software creation process, modern prototyping tools, software quality, automated testing, and support.Youll be making key strategic decisions for the success of the products youll be managing, balancing the need to advance features for the business, improve the user experience, and maintain technical stability.Our teams run a complete service measured against product metrics and will constantly assess performance against product metrics and solicit customer feedback to inform our product decisions.We utilise DevOps model, monitoring technical performance, ensuring operational stability, security, and lowering technical debt. Release frequency will be decided by you and youll be driving the team to achieve multiple releases per day enabled by modern software engineering practices, automated testing and continuous improvement.Digital Services is growing, and we need people to help us grow, challenge the way we work, establish best-practice across our teams, and champion our way of working with the business.What do you needThe role requires a blend of skills.   • Knowledge and experience of the Agile software development process.
  • Be passionate about best practice in your role, and the Agile team.
  • Continuous learning through research, prototyping, demos.

Our main company bases are Lincoln and Huntingdon and our team is already split across these sites. Like any other UK company, we are evolving our approach to include vastly more remote working.Its likely we will only hold collaborative face-to-face meetings back at the office, with perhaps with office contact being one or two days per two weeks. This approach allows a lot more flexibility for location within the UK.
