As part of this transformation we are recruiting for a number of new and excitingroles within our Information Services team.What will you be doingTo help us produce exciting and innovative digital products to drive business transformation we are looking for a Product Owner to join our Digital Product Practice.The Product Owner is a key component of an agile product team and has sole accountability for maximising the value of their work. The role bridges across business and product development, translating strategy and vision into tactical delivery. Ultimately,you have accountability for the feature set of your product, look and feel, pace of delivery and reliability.Youll be responsible for managing the Product Backlog, refining and ordering with the team based on value, risk, effort, complexity, and development schedule to ensure the development team is continually working on high value items that align with the productvision and strategy. They are entrusted with the crucial responsibility of maximizing the value of the product resulting from the work of the development team, making trade-off decisions, and balancing between scope, budget, and time to ensure the productdelivers unique value and delights users, and delivers for our customers, colleagues, and business.Engagement with various stakeholders is also a significant aspect of this role. The Product Owner collaborates closely with stakeholders, managing expectations, addressing concerns, and gathering feedback to refine the product Vision, objectives, roadmap,and backlog (combined product strategy). By fostering a collaborative environment, they facilitate open communication between the development team and stakeholders, ensuring alignment on goals and objectives.The Product Owner holds a significant level of empowerment and accountability. With the autonomy to make crucial decisions regarding the product backlog, they are accountable for the success or failure of the product. Ensuring that the development team hasa clear understanding of the backlog items, and that the product increment is potentially releasable at the end of every sprint, the Product Owner is instrumental in steering the digital, data and technology products towards success, balancing various stakeholderinterests, and managing product strategy and plans effectively.What do you needThe role requires a blend of skills, including:

  • A passion for creating successful software products.
  • A blended experience of business strategy and product development.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Youll often be presenting and making decisions with senior leaders.
  • A broad knowledge of Anglian Waters business gives an advantage.
  • Knowledge and experience of the Agile software development process.
  • Be passionate about best practice in your role, and the Agile team.
  • Continuous learning through research, prototyping, demos.
Above all, Digital Services are challenging how to make software at Anglian Water and this requires energy and creativity. Youll be playing a big part in determining best practice, improving and being an advocate for Agile outside of the team.Working LocationOur main company bases are Lincoln and Huntingdon and our team is already split across these sites.
