Job Description

Aliaxis UK/GPS PE Pipe Systems are part of the Aliaxis Group, a successful and renowned global manufacturer of plastic pipe systems for the construction and utilities sectors. We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Process Development & Continuous Improvement Lead to join the business. Based at our Huntingdon location and reporting to and working closely with the Manufacturing Director, this position will drive excellence through unlocking engineering potential, driving continuous improvement and the mapping and streamlining of processes.About the roleThe Process Development & Continuous Improvement Lead will provide general support to the manufacturing and engineering teams, specifically through improved safety, quality, performance & cost KPI’s in order to achieve yearly (FAST/Turbo FAST programs) and mid-term business targets. The position will also develop and drive a culture of Continuous Improvement. Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying CI opportunities / savings & structure projects
  • Preparing & delivering CI / Kaizen workshops
  • Sharing CI best practices across EMEA with CI peers whilst also coaching local teams
  • Delivering 5S audits, gemba walks etc
  • Facilitating problem solving activities using "CI tools" (5Y’s, Ishikawa fishbone)
  • Conducting examination / analysis activities resulting from manufacturing issues and / or customer complaints
  • Determining the most efficient methods of manufacture and assisting with establishing the associated costs
    • Your skills and experienceWe’re looking for an experienced and qualified Continuous Improvement/Process Development Engineer preferably with experience gained in a similar manufacturing/engineering environment. Ideally educated to degree level and with Six Sigma Green Belt (ideally Black Belt), candidates will need to have:
  • Project planning and management experience with a proven track record in achieving targets
  • Proven track record of working with and introducing 5S or other Lean methodologies
  • Understanding of value stream mapping
  • Ability to communicate clearly - both verbally and written
  • Ability to work effectively and build relationships in a team environment
  • Self motivated to identify opportunities and deliver improvements against agreed objectives and timescales
  • Self disciplined with the ability to set and maintain high standards for self and others
