Job Description

Full time 37 hours per week worked over 5 days (Monday to Saturday - Alternate Saturdays to be worked) 12 month fixed term Job share or part time applications will be considered for the right candidate. FTE Salary £17,941 with enhancement paid above this for Saturday working (approx. £900 per annum).Based from Huntingdon Depo working across the DistrictHuntingdonshire District Council (HDC) is passionate about providing high quality services to our communities, residents and businesses and this means we need to employ and retain the most talented and dedicated people. We are an innovative and forward-thinking Local Authority whose residents are at the heart of our decision making.The Parking Enforcement Officer is a frontline role working out and about across the district undertaking enforcement duties at council manged sites. You will need to possess good customer care skills as you will be dealing with members of the public ona daily basis in potentially challenging situations. Full training and support will be provided and duties will include -

  • Patrolling & monitoring of HDC owned/managed car parks undertaking enforcement action
  • Providing a visible presence across HDC car parks
  • Undertaking equipment checks and basic maintenance
  • Reporting any required repairs, maintenance issues or any other matters that may reduce or prevent any facilities or areas patrolled being used
  • Reporting any issues relating to other services provided by the Council that may be observed whilst out on site
  • Supporting the processing of parking charge notices
This is a role where the individual will be required to work outdoors, spending most of the day on foot. There is a physical element of the role where the individual will be required to move supplies and equipment weighing approximately 15kg.The role is important and requires someone who can work individually and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have great communication skills and be able to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail required as part of the enforcement duties andbe confident in writing reports.This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week. This is to be worked over 5 days between Monday and Saturday (you will be required to work alternate Saturdays, with enhanced pay).The role will be based from our Eastfield House Depot in Huntingdon, leaving here to attend sites across the district. Having a valid UK driving licence is essential.Staff Benefits:
