Our client based just outside of Huntingdon are looking for experienced Machine Operators to join them on a temporary to permanent basis. As a Machine Operator you will be part of a small shift team responsible for the day to day operation of the factory production plant and machinery. This primarily involves material handling using mobile plant, packing goods, minding machinery, and movementand loading of finished products. The operator role requires the carrying out of start-up, running, and shut down procedures, including emergency shut down procedures, in accordance with SOPs and training. You will also be required to carry out routine conditioningchecks and inspection of production equipment, along with maintaining machine cleanliness and general housekeeping standards. The goal is to ensure that production procedures can be carried out smoothly to maximise efficiency and meet production targets. ResponsibilitiesSetting up and running of machinery in accordance with required parametersControl and adjustment of machine settings to maintain quality and performanceEnsuring processes are supplied with materials and consumables as requiredInspect parts with precision and measuring toolsTest operation of machines periodicallyFix issues within the operators capability and safe working that might occur during the shiftEnsure appropriate quality of output through inspection and delivery of QC processesWork with SOPsManage the safe shut down of the machineryOperate a counterbalance fork truck and telehandler for moving feedstock and finished product (experience preferred, but training can be given)Your skills and experienceCounterbalance fork truck (desirable)Full driving licence (site is remote, so transport is required)Experience in manufacturing operation and especially as a machine operator Understanding of production proceduresAbility to be flexible and respond to changing demands and conditions - while operating within SOPsExcellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately with colleagues at all levelsA team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workersAttention to detailMust have a proficient level of safety knowledge and respect for safety precautions (e.g. constant use of protective gear)A High school diploma or equivalent, technical degree or vocational qualifications is a plusThis role involves working a mix of 12 hours rotating day & night shifts, so flexibility on working hours is key.
