Job Description

Circa £31k, salary dependant on skills and experiencePermanent Full time / 37 hours a weekCentral Laboratory, HuntingdonWe are currently looking for a LIMS Administrator to join theQualityteam. TheLIMS Administratorwill contribute to our goal of "Culturing Analytical Excellence" through:

  • Providingatimely,agile and accurate service
  • Working with our partners in true collaboration to support theAnalytical Services function.
  • Support the establishment oflong termsustainable operations through efficiency, lean methodology and innovative thinking.
  • Being regarded as a credible source of advice and expertise in our specialist fields.
  • Fostering a culture of innovation, forward thinking, positive challenge and support throughout our functions.
TheLIMSAdministrator willunderstand Laboratory and sampling processes andsupport the development and integration of Labware LIMS into routine use by Analytical Services, developingand maintainingclose working links with key suppliers and our internalcustomers. They will also manage system upgrades and ensure instrument interfacing and data backups comply with requirements.TheLIMS Administratorwillat all timesmake certain theyretain the skills and technical abilities to comply with the requirements ofAnalytical Services and our suppliers. They will alsobe acredible source of expertise to the senior level incidentmanagers in relation toliaison with our suppliers and service continuity.TheLIMS Administratorwill be able to discuss work convincingly and objectively with colleagues, customers and others, respondingconstructively to, and acknowledge the value of alternative views and hypothesesregardingLIMS related issues.What does it take to be a LIMS Administrator
  • Educationto A level standard orequivalent, with demonstrated experience of working within a scientific laboratory and an understanding of laboratory processes.
  • A scientific degree is desirable along with registration with a professional bodyin-depth knowledge of LIMS and databases although training will be provided.
  • Comfortable making decisions following agreed principles.
  • A good understanding of the processes within a laboratoryenvironmentand associated QA processesand regulatory requirements
  • Good people and communication skills with experience of workingwith3rdparty external providers
  • Able to influence key stakeholders across the business
