Were proud to have been voted as the best place to work in the UK and to be winners of the prestigious Utility of the Year award. We recently announced plans to invest £6.5 billion into our regions water and sewerage networks, to help protect the environment and secure water resources for generations to come. What will you be doingWe currently have a great opportunity for an Integrated Water Management Lead to join our team to embed integrated water management practices in new housing and economic development as a key component of our ambition to accommodate growth within environmental limits. We cover one of the fastest growing, environmentally sensitive and most vulnerable areas to climate change in the country. To enable growth in a sustainable manner we want to embed new approaches to water management that help manage water demand, improve water quality and manage the risk of flooding while creating healthy and enjoyable places to live. We cannot achieve this alone; sharing resources and building the evidence and business case through strong partnerships is vital for success. This role is responsible for developing and delivering our strategy to promote local water re-use and our water smart communities initiative. Critical to achieving this will be helping to create a national policy framework that incentivises integrated water management as standard in new development, based on the multiple benefits of water re-use, rainwater harvesting and water efficiency measures. In doing so the post holder will represent the business at cross-sectoral policy forums to identify and tackle persistent barriers to wider uptake. At the regional level this role will lead proactive efforts to harness community, business and local authority interest in implementing integrated water management measures.
