Job Description

The Housing Delivery Manager is an exciting new high-profile role, leading on housing delivery and with great autonomy and the opportunity to create a personal legacy of quality new development.Strategically located in fast growing Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire District Council is taking positive action on delivering more new homes, being creative in using the Councils land assets and building partnerships externally to enable development to happen at pace. We are seeking someone who is ambitious, innovative and agile, experienced in delivering new housing schemes and who understands the housing market and commerciality. You will benefit from strong organisation sponsorship, reporting direct to Corporate Director level and with political support to make things happen.You will directly manage the Councils programme of affordable homes site delivery, currently 13 sites and 200 homes, in partnership with our provider, Longhurst. You will lead development of a further programme of local interventions to facilitate more sites and increase supply, including feasibility of housing lead regeneration sites in our towns.With expertise in housing and ability to translate best practice and guidance into action, you will own the Councils newly refreshed Housing Strategy and be responsible for identifying and implementing new initiatives across an annual action plan. Effective partnerships and collaboration within our organisation and externally is key to success to ensure the best housing choices for our communities.You need to be skilled at building strong partnerships with key stakeholders including the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority, Homes England and Registered Housing Providers and be an exceptional negotiator and influencer, with a track record in leveraging funding.Huntingdonshire District Council is innovative and passionate about providing high quality outcomes to our communities, residents and businesses, with a relentless drive for quality places to live and work.
