Job Description

Summary This role will commence when the holidays business is permitted to re-open.As Outdoor Holidays Operation Team Leader you will be responsible for the day to day supervision of a team of Holidays Operation Assistants. Working within Trust procedures and conservation guidelines, you will lead the team to ensure high standards of presentation and customer care are delivered at all times, and report and organise maintenance/repairs with Trust approved contractors. You will maintain the required Health, Safety and Compliance records. You will also fulfill practical tasks such as cleaning whilst supervising your team. You will be the go-to person to deal with day to day tasks, issues and problem solving. What its like to work here Houghton Mill is the last working watermill that exists on the River Ouse. With a charming riverside location, the property includes the Mill, a tearoom and a campsite. The small but ambitious team at the property work collaboratively together to provide access to the surrounding countryside and an engaging visitor experience which includes milling flour that can then be purchased onsite. A strong team spirit and collaborative working environment is key to the success of Houghton Mill and the staff are looking for flexible, creative people to join them. What youll be doing It’s all about teamwork. You will need to deliver high levels of customer service to our guests and ensure consistency is delivered across the Outdoor holidays team to all our visitors, youll be working with the wider property team, as well as supporting and managing our volunteers.You will induct new staff and support the provision of an efficient, effective and flexible service, maintaining very high standards of presentation across the grounds and our facilities. Support co-ordination of routine maintenance and repairs, and deal with customer queries.You will support the ongoing management of our booking system to maximising occupancy of our pitches and camping pods and support the Operations manager with monthly rotas.Good stock control is essential, as is efficient purchasing and store management in order to minimise costs whilst still providing a good service to caretakers.Health and Safety compliance and good environmental management is essential. You will be familiar with working to risk assessments, COSHH procedures, accident reporting, and fire safety.You will be supporting and maintaining the delivering the efficient management of the Campsite in line with agreed procedures and National Trust standards.Please also read the full role profile, attached to this advert.   • Practical experience in an operational role in outdoor holiday operating environment
  • A good understanding of necessary standards presentation and maintenance
  • Some supervisory experience, good people skills, confidence dealing with a variety of situations including incidents and complaints
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A proven track record in delivering high standards of customer service
  • Experience using records management and information systems
  • Working knowledge of relevant Health & Safety procedures and experience of risk assessments
