A fantastic opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and ambitious HGV Workshop Manager to join and lead a profitable and continually growing commercial fleet servicing company.We are an established and continually growing small to medium sized business, taking pride in our high standards of servicing and repairs alongside our fast turn-around and exceptional 1st time MOT pass rates.We even continued to grow the business throughout the recent pandemic and were fortunate to not only have to not lose any members of staff but instead actively recruited and provided new jobs within the industry during these tough times.We very much have a family/team ethos and are looking for the right candidate to take on the reigns of our workshop based in Warboys, Cambridgeshire.Some of our notable clients include Gray Rentals, Freshlinc, DFDS and Huntingdonshire District Council.Basic salary of up to £44,928 per annum with realistic achievable earnings of £50,000 - £55,000 OTE including bonus + a range of other benefits.Mon - Fri 08:00 - 18:00 & Every other Saturday (half day)The role -Manage and take full responsibility of the workshop on a daily basis.Management of the workshop and all associated service functions to improve efficiency, productivity, cost saving and profitability.Prioritising workload to meet customer needs.Responsibility for ensuring all on site rules and regulations are implemented and adhered to.Working closely with the companys business development and administrative team to continue the current rate of growth and maximise customer base.Chairing staff meetings and reviews, ensuring prompt, clear and open communications are delivered.Development and coaching of staff.Hands on technical support to the workshop as and when required.Monitoring of job cards, service documentation and other documents.Ensuring provisions and the ongoing condition of the workshop, tools and equipment are maintained.Supervision of workshop staff and liaising directly with the workshop supervisor to ensure standards of work, cleanliness and a safe working environment are maintained at all times.Responsibility for shift pattern arrangements, cover of technicians due to absence/holiday and authorising of overtime.Stock and quality control.Any and all other duties that befit the role and in line with the needs of the business.The candidate -Previous experience of successfully managing or deputising a commercial workshop environment.Previous experience working as a HGV technician.An understanding of recording and delivering on KPIs and workshop performance measures.An understanding of the importance of customer focus and relationships.An understanding of collaborative and team ethos management.Knowledge of relevant licensing requirements e.g. Operating licences.Excellent organisational skills.Excellent communication skills.Excellent leadership skills.The application -Immediate start available for the right candidate!
