Job Description

Health and Safety Advisor (Manufacturing) - Huntingdon. Salary starting at £37k, (rising to £40k in 12m), plus many benefits. The Role - Health and Safety Advisor We are currently looking for an experienced H&S Advisor to join our manufacturing team in Huntingdon.As the Successful Health and Safety Advisor, you will work closely with the Group Legal & Safety Team and colleagues across the business ensuring that the companys high standards of health and safety are maintained. You will oversee the H&S compliance inrelation to the site.Role includes:

  • Ensuring that effective risk assessments are in place for all the sites activities, including SOPRA, COSHH, Manual Handling, Noise, DSE, and other statutory requirements.
  • Ensuring Group systems for reporting and responding to accidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses are implemented.
  • Implementing testing arrangements for emergency response and fire systems
  • Maintaining relevant KPIs and information on Health and Safety matters
  • Providing health & safety training and inductions to ensure new starters are welcomed safely into the business
  • Liaising with internal management providing advice and guidance.
  • Carrying out internal audits and inspections
  • Ensuring the contractor management process is adhered to.
  • Working closely with and becoming a valued member of the Legal & Safety Team

Skills neededWe are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor with the skills, experience and attributes to be successful in this role:
  • Experience of manufacturing an advantage
  • It is essential that you hold as a minimum a NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent.
  • An excellent communicator with great influencing skills able to build exceptional working relationships across all levels.
  • Confident in challenging behaviour as well as leading by example.
