Job Description

Head of OfferLocation: HuntingdonHours: Full-time, hybrid pattern of working in placeA supplier of high-quality metals and materials, Goodfellow specialises in the research and development sectors with a strong focus on science and industry. Their technical teams have worked on materials that have contributed to scientific breakthroughsin nuclear fusion, the fight against COVID-19, and have been used in probes that have travelled through space as far as Saturn.The RoleThe Head of Offer will be responsible for the profitability of their Speciality Product range. This will include range management, stock profiling, and pricing with an understanding of where the products would position in the marketplace. Working crossfunctionally, they would maximise the efficiency of the product range, introducing new products, and monitoring sales by market, customer and type. They would be key in supporting the Marketing and Sales functions in ensuring the ranges are effectively promotedglobally.Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the strategic development of the company’s Speciality Product range and custodian of the product margin.
  • Lead and develop a team with overall responsibility to:
    • Develop and implement pricing strategies to maximise revenue and profit.
    • Work with Supply Chain to develop the product range, introducing quality new products globally, as well as maximising potential of existing product supply.
    • Develop regional plans to drive sales and margin growth for specific product ranges. Work with the sales and marketing teams in individual markets to ensure that they are fully aware of the product range, technically and commercially, to ensure sales aremaximised globally for Speciality Products.
    • Analysis of the Technical Solution sales profile to identify opportunities to grow the Speciality Product range.
    • Full analysis of the sales and margin profiles to inform decision making for pricing, product range development and to produce management reporting by market and product group.
  • Create and execute an annual strategic plan to map the direction of the company’s Speciality Product range ensuring that the right products are stocked at the right price to maximise sales, profit and stock efficiency. To include an annual range plan,budgeting for new product introductions and range rationalisation and development.
  • Work with Sales & Marketing to identify target sectors and develop product ranges to meet customer requirements.
  • Analyse incoming customer enquiries to identify patterns of customer behaviour and inform decision making.
  • Work with the Purchasing Specialists to assist with maximising quote conversion through market and product knowledge.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Knowledge of a product range and marketplace in keeping with the company offering.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand trends from sources of data.
    • Demonstrable problem-solving ability in similar situations.
  • An ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple departments. Facilitation and influencing are key competencies.
  • Passion for providing service excellence and an unending drive to achieve results.
    • Global supply chain & commercial awareness.
