Job Description

Summary If you enjoy being part of a team which cares for and maintains glorious mansions and halls, keeping them an attractive tourist location, this role would be perfect for you. What its like to work here Houghton Mill is a rare gem with a large waterwheelstill used to mill flour, youll be an integral part of the milling/maintenance procedures, working alongside a small team of colleagues, a large number of volunteers and occasional management of contractors on site.Youll work directly and remotely alongside the portfolio Facilities Manager for training and to gain a deeper understanding of Health and safety, Security, Fire, Access, Risk and Contract/Budget Management, youll report to the site Duty Manager daily toensure operational cohesiveness.There will be a requirement to partake in harness training among other training possibilities. What youll be doing Youll be responsible for supporting the delivery of an efficient, effective and flexible facilities service, to enable the successful operation of the property. Youll support the team to meet its objectives by ensuring high standardsare delivered and maintained at all times. Youll assist with the provision of planned, preventative and reactive maintenance and repairs, cleaning and caretaking duties, presentation of public areas and visitor facilities.Youll have a partially planned timetable of mill equipment maintenance, cleaning the milling areas after milling and light janitorial duties. There will be regular compliance tasks and youll have the responsibility of stock maintenance to provision facilitiesat the Mill recording knowledge and information, helping to maintain a safe and efficient place to work.Please read the full role profile attached to this advert.   • Experience in a facilities role in a customer service environment
  • Flexible, customer focussed approach with understanding of good customer service standards
  • Good organisational skillsand attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to use tools, equipment as required for the role
  • Willingness to work alongside volunteers and is able to support volunteers to perform at their best
  • Ability to multi-task and work in collaboration with other departments
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Office)
