Facilities AssistantAlconbury, Huntingdon PE28, UKMM Flowers is a dynamic growing business supplying fresh cut flowers and bouquets from all over the world to the retail sector across the UK and Europe.The company operates from a state of the art facility in Alconbury, Huntingdon and is adding this new position to the Facilities Team.JOB TITLE: Facilities AssistantREPORTING TO: APS Facilities ManagerDEPARTMENT: FacilitiesLOCATION: Alconbury, HuntingdonMAIN PURPOSETo be responsible for providing support to ensure the facilities services are consistently effective, efficient and that all problems are resolved in a timely manner. You must also demonstrate a high level of security awareness at all times and have knowledge of both emergency evacuation and H&S procedures.MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:- To carry out methodical checks throughout the building & meeting rooms on a daily basis, ensuring any issues are dealt with in a prompt and efficient manner.- Assisting the Facilities department with office moves and other general adhoc projects.- Ensure attending contractors onsite have authority to work and have provided the correct H&S documentation to commence work. Record contractor activities onsite.- Undertake minor repairs, painting, decorating and plumbing works,- General H&S duties including risk assessments, contractor monitoring and other statutory and not statutory site requirements.- Attend training and course as specified by the Facilities Manager.- Assist with maintaining the property to an acceptable condition utilising the approved external M&E, cleaning, grounds & waste services and security contractors respectively ensuring that the site is fully operational at all times.- Carry out the building fire drills and ensure a maintained fire marshal system. Organize Fire Safety training and First Aid training with staff in line with legislation.- Ensure signage on site is appropriate and current at all times.SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:- GCSE/GCE qualifications in Maths and English- IOSH or other Health and Safety qualification desirable- Previous experience working within a Facilities environment- Good understanding of M&EPERSONAL PROFILE- A smart and professional appearance with a polite, courteous and professional manner- The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.- Collaborative working spirit that enhances and builds effective working relationships both internally and externally.- The ability to multi-task effectively and prioritise workload- Well organised with excellent attention to detail with high levels of accuracy- A can do’ attitude using own initiative, innovative and self-motivated- Confident to work un-supervisedClosing date for this vacancy is Friday 18th June 2021
