Job Description

We are an innovative and forward-thinking Local Authoritywhose residents are at the heart of our decision making.We are looking for a highly organised and enthusiastic administrator capable of dealing with a busy and varied workload assisting the Elections and Democratic Services Team.This is an important role acting as the first point of contact for councillors, providing support to the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Council, member support, facilitation of training and development activities, as well as project support for the widerElections and Democratic Services Team.The successful candidate will need to work well as part of a small team and react to work pressures as required. This may include travel to other locations for evening meetings to support the arrangements for the smooth running of Council and Committee meetingsthat may be off-site.You will need excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain good working relationships with councillors, colleagues in other Departments and external organisations. You should also be skilled in the ability to manage and prioritiseyour time effectively to meet deadlines, together with an eye for detail and a collaborative approach to working.The postholder should have the ability to work flexibly, working from home primarily whilst we continue with the hybrid working arrangements, but there will also be a requirement to undertake office-based activities, both on-site and off-site, within therole as required.The post is full-time (37 hours) but part-time hours may be considered.Please contact the Recruitment Team for an informal discussion or further information about the post.We anticipate that interviews will be held the week commencing 28 February 2022.
