Job Description

Permanent full-time or part-time considered with the opportunity to work flexibly from home, but within travelling distance of Huntingdonshire to accommodate office working and site visits.Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC) is passionate about providing high quality services to our communities, residents and businesses. The role will involve dealing with an interesting and varied caseload of planning applications, including householders, prior notifications,advertisement consents, listed building consents, as well as small scale infill developments and other minor development proposals.The post will be ideal for a motivated and keen planning graduate looking for that first job, or somebody who has worked as a development management case officer in a local authority planning department or similar regulatory environment, or at an equivalentlevel in a private practice. You will be exposed to a healthy culture of learning, sharing knowledge, and you will be surrounded by friendly and approachable specialists, admin staff, planners, planning team leaders and managers.There will be regular cross working with other internal council teams (such as Planning Admin/Heritage/Strategic/Policy teams and the Enforcement teams), as well as external bodies, for example the Environment Agency.This role will require you to be present in Huntingdon on occasions and you must be comfortable working in various locations as required.
