We are an innovative and forward-thinking Local Authority whose residents are at the heart of our decision making.We are looking for someone with extensive experience of working within a local authority revenues environment to lead our successful Council Tax, Business Rates and Recovery Teams.You will have day-to-day responsibility for managing the teams collecting Council Tax from 78,000 domestic properties and Business Rates from 5,500 businesses ensuring that collection rates remain high in a particularly challenging and complex environmentwhilst maintaining a high level of customer service. You will have direct line management of 3 Team Leaders and responsibility for a team of 13.You should have an in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation to maximise collection through all available means and to take enforcement action as appropriate whilst maintaining and developing best practice to ensure continuous improvement and value formoney.You will lead, motivate, develop and provide support and guidance to the teams encouraging empowerment at all levels.You will be a self-starter with an ability to think innovatively and pro-actively on all aspects of the service including developing the Service Plan, implementing new initiatives and dealing with frequent changes in legislation.You will take a lead role in the investigation and processing of complaints and pre-Valuation Tribunal cases. You will provide specialist advice regarding complex / contentious revenues cases, as well as advising the BID company and CIL Implementation Teamregarding appropriate enforcement action.We are proud of our team and work ethic and strive to provide the best possible service to the residents of Huntingdonshire by working collaboratively with teams across HDC and the rest of the County.
