An incredibly exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen within the Community Team at Huntingdonshire District Council for the role of Community Development Officer. The successful candidate will form part of a team that is responsible for deliveringagainst the Community Strategy Transition Plan 2021-23, whilst at the same time helping communities recover from the pandemic by utilising information and data that has been obtained through a recent Community Impact Assessment.Over the last 18 months, the Community Development Team has been fortunate enough to work on the frontline with the community and voluntary sector to help those affected by COVID-19.This has been in the form of creating a food network, developing community-based job clubs, identifying and supporting individuals and families with long term solutions to their needs as well as distributing funding to Recognised Organisations so that theycan deliver initiatives on the ground at pace.We want the relationships that we have built to continue to go from strength to strength and to work collaboratively towards achieving the four Grand Challenges for our residents, these being Good Place, Good Start, Good Health and Good Work.We are seeking someone who is passionate about making a difference, someone with an excellent track record of partnership working as well as experience of working with the community directly as part of a change programme. You will not be afraid to challengethe status quo, be innovative, but most of all care about what it is that this area of business is trying to achieve.This is a full-time permanent role with the officer spending a mix of their time working from home and within the community. There is the opportunity to work from a number of different locations including shared partner / community working space.
