Job Description

Commercial Manager -required for your client who are a well-established Architectural & General Metalwork Fabricator based in the Cambridgeshire area just west of Huntingdon. The company that the Commercial Manager willbe working for manufacture Steel Structures for the Construction Industry working on a range of retail, commercial, residential, infrastructure and utility projects.The Commercial Manager will be submitting monthly applications to clients and manage commercial aspects of current and prospective projects.Commercial Manager Position Overview

  • Coordinate and manage all financial activities of assigned projects, monitoring performance against contract programmes and reporting any issues to Project Managers.
  • Submitting monthly applications for active projects
  • Analysing tender allowances and submitting variations
  • Maintaining strong communication and relationships with clients
  • Producing and maintaining spreadsheet analysis
  • Ensure cost control is maintained on project basis throughout procurement, delivery and design, through to final account stage.
  • Have a commercial approach which proactively identifies and regularly proposes savings within the business.
  • Production of monthly costs and value forecasts
  • Preparing tender and contract documentation
  • Assisting in other general day to day Quantity Surveying tasks
Commercial Manager Position Requirements
  • Degree or HNC within a Quantity Surveying or Civil / Structural Engineering Discipline
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Commercial Management
  • Experience working in a commercial role
  • Understanding of steelwork preferred
  • Working knowledge of construction contracts
  • Excellent IT skills - especially Excel and Google Sheets
  • Effective communication skills
  • A full UK driving licence and their own vehicle
Commercial Manager Position Remuneration
  • Salary Dependant on experience £40K - £50K
  • 20 days holiday + BH
  • 30am - 6.00pm with flexible lunch, start/end times
