Job Description

We are delighted to be working with a reputable client in their search for an Assistant Accountant on a fixed term, hybrid basis, working 2days in the office and 3 days from home, based from their office in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.Working full time (although part time would also be considered), you will be required to provide accurate and timely reporting of fiscal and statutory indirect tax reporting across the EMEA region.Responsibilities include:

  • VAT returns
  • Intrastat returns
  • EC Sales listings
  • Support the generation of information to enable reconciliation to be generated in support of Statutory Accounts Audits and Tax returns
  • Provide accurate balance sheet positions and reconciliation for VAT accounts
  • Support the improvement of internal reporting processes
Other adhoc duties in the finance teamThe successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
  • Previous accounting knowledge and experience is essential, ideally within a similar role
  • European VAT reporting experience is desirable
  • Intermediate Excel - experience of pivot tables, Sumifs statements and Vlookups essential
  • Excellent communications skills
