Job Description

Are you an experienced CNC machinist looking to work for a more established local manufacturing business Want to work in a modern facility with state of the art equipment, plenty of overtime and an environment that encourages training and development Thenwe want to hear from you!The company are long established, family run business that specialise in the manufacture of precision components to the Aerospace, Oil & Gas and Defence industries. As part of their continuing expansion they have an opportunity for a CNC Machinist to workwithin their modern manufacturing site in Nottingham. Working alongside a team of highly skilled engineers, youll be given full autonomy over manufacturing precision parts from raw material, to finished article.Benefits include Hourly rate of £14- £16 p/h depending on experience, overtime during the week and weekends, 32 days holiday, company pension, and much moreResponsibilities of the CNC Machinist include -

  • Responsible for either programming, or part programming and setting of 3 & 4 axis HAAS machining centres
  • Writing milling programmes long hand at the machine using HAAS controls
  • Machining of new jigs and fixtures for prototype manufacture
  • Manage the programming of updates and new components
  • Editing pre written programmes, the full machine setup including material, jigs, fixtures, speeds, feeds and prove out
  • Carry out in-process inspection using measuring equipment
  • Continuous improvement to existing and new programmes
Ideal applicants for the CNC Machinist role will have the following skills / experience- Previous experience with either programming, or editing of pre-written CNC programmes- Confident user of either HAAS or FANUC controlled Milling Machines- Be able to machine high quality parts from one off to medium batch volume, in a range of hard and soft metals - Have a strong stable working history within the manufacturing industry, and be able to provide references when requiredWorking hours are 39hrs per week Monday to Friday, on daysASC Connections Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
