Job Description

About Us. PA Media is the UK’s national news agency, supplying 24/7 journalism to every newsroom in the country. It sits at the heart of the PA Media Group which is now a portfolio of diversified news and information companies encompassing a large data division, thepicture agency Alamy and the streaming service Stream AMG, among others.About the role.We have an opportunity for a Facilities Operative to join our team supporting our north of England sites, primarily Howden (East Yorkshire). In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering top-notch facilities services, collaborating closely with suppliers, colleagues, and clients, you will ensure the smooth operation of our facilities services.What you expect Day to Day.

  • Conduct regular floor walks, ensuring that all areas are tidy and in good working condition.
  • Ensure room readiness requirements are met in all meeting rooms.
  • Take an active role in building maintenance.
  • Engage with service providers and assist in the monitoring, performance and compliance of sub-contract services provided.
  • Ensure Health & Safety procedures are always adhered to, such as Building inductions, Weekly fire checks etc.
  • Take a proactive approach in the identification of opportunities for service improvement across the Property division.
  • Fire Marshall responsibility
  • Porterage assistance for Office/Furniture moves.
About you.
  • Previous experience in a client-side facilities role such as Caretaking or Maintenance.
  • Some practical maintenance skills, such as using small power tools.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Tact and diplomacy; ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and accept responsibility in managers’ absence.
  • Pro-active approach to delivering improvements where opportunities exist.
  • It would be advantageous to have existing Fire Marshall training but this is not essential and can be provided.
