Job Description

Imperial Professionals are delighted to announce that we are working with one of our high-profile clients to appoint a Hardware Design Engineer on a permanent basis.Job Title: Hardware Design EngineerSalary: Negotiable depending upon experienceHours: Full time working Monday to Friday Location: West LondonThe company is currently seeking a motivated and creative hardware design engineer to join its UK operation designing high-performance, real-time video products.Key Responsibilities:

  • Board level architecture, design, implementation, and test of digital and or analogue hardware for video processing and interfacing products.
  • The design work will include researching / specifying components, schematic development, PCB layout guidance, board bring-up, interfacing and collaboration with other engineering groups (Firmware, Power, and Mechanical), and working with product management during product design cycles.
  • Work with managers and senior technical staff to develop digital products and their associated designs.
  • Gain detailed knowledge and understanding of existing designs. Support and maintain existing products.
  • Produce clear and concise design documentation of hardware designs.
  • Able to work to a project plan, tracking progress, identifying risks, anticipating delays and communicating such to the project leader.
  • Perform other activities and responsibilities as directed.
    • To be considered for this fantastic opportunity you will have:
  • UK First Degree level (or equivalent) qualification in electronics or other relevant subject.
  • 3+ years hardware design engineering experience.
  • Experience in high speed digital design (DDR3/4, PCIe, Serdes).
  • Experience designing embedded products.
  • Experience interfacing with microcontroller, memory and peripherals (FLASH, I2C, SPI, RS232, USB)
  • Experience in CPLD/FPGA using VHDL is a plus.
  • Experience with analogue electronics.
  • Strong hardware debugging skills and root-cause failure analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized, computer literate.
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to work co-operatively in a team environment.
