We are looking for ABA Assistants who will provide assistance within the young person’s home, ensuring he is preparedfor what adulthood will bring for him.About ASEND Support:ASEND supports young people who are not able to attend school for a number of reasons - often because there’s no suitable place available. We aim to prepare them for a return to mainstream or special school, as part of a wider support package or for adulthood. We’re always person-centred and we target the building of emotional resilience and self-confidence alongside developing communication and life skills. It’s all about our students, meeting their specific needs and ensuring they make progress. We work veryhard to find just the right team members for each young person, matching their skills and expertise to the needs of each unique student.About the student:We are looking for passionate and dedicated ABA Assistants or people who are aware of the ABA approach to work with a 22-year-old severely autistic young man. He finds visual prompts helpful and occasionally expresses emotions through gestures and othernon-verbal means. Additionally, he can utilise symbols to convey his feelings. He is advancing in both communication and learning skills, also showing improvement in social skills and making strides toward acquiring skills essential for adulthood.ABA Assistants will help work on preparation for adulthood, you don’t have to be licensed as you’ll be working closely under a Certified ABA Tutor to implement a tailored program and address the individualised needs of the child. The ABA Team will be responsiblefor instruction, behaviour management, personal care, and resource utilisation.
