Are you looking for your next Legal move Would you like to work with a friendly and progress team Do you have the right experience for the role If so Keoghs are looking to recruit a Pre-Lit DA File Handler Assistant to join the team. The File Handler Assistant will be assigned to work with a File Handler/File Handlers within a team in an open plan environment. The team deal with Delegated Authority fixed fee pre litigated cases on behalf of a cross section of insurance clients. Whilst the Assistant will not have ownership of any of their own files, they will be responsible for carrying out individual tasks on cases for and in support of the File Handler(s).Key Accountabilities:The work handled by the Assistant will be governed by the caseload of the File Handler that they are assigned to, these include:• Instructing experts• Instructing and working with Counsel• Attending Interlocutory Hearings• Carrying out detailed reviews of medical records• Liaising with clients/other insurers/third parties• Liaising with policyholders and witnesses• Negotiating settlements• Assisting the File Handler to follow the Court timetable to include drafting basic pleadings/court documents• Covering the work in the File Handler’s absence• Any other tasks as they arise during the course of assisting the Fee Earner to efficiently run their caseload• To ensure compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct 2011Essential Skills and Attributes:• Established interest in law either through further education (e.g. LPC or ILEX) or experience within a process driven legal environment• Experience of drafting court documents and understanding of processes• Good telephone and communication skills with people at all levels inside and outside the business• An ability to organise and prioritise tasks using initiative• Calm under pressure with the ability to re-prioritise and delegate effectively when required• An ability to analyse evidence• Good Literacy and IT skills• Good team worker with the flexibility to do what is required to get a result and ensure client service levels are met• Ability to work effectively within the Keoghs ValuesWhat you can expect from us:· A learning culture with employee development at the heart of the people development pathway· Excellent flexible benefits including Annual leave entitlement and Healthcare Cash Plan as standard· Monday to Friday - 35 hours per weekBenefits:• Care Cash Plan• Death In Service - after 1 year• Pension Contribution• Cycle to Work Scheme*• Tech Scheme*• Season Ticket Loan*• Gym Flex*• Access to Online Discount Sites• Discounted Gourmet Society Membership• Discounted Tickets for Merlin Attractions nationwide• Flexible Working• 25 day holiday plus 8 bank holiday (with the option to buy and sell 3 days per year)Keoghs is one of the leading providers of claims-related services to insurers, businesses and other suppliers to the insurance sector.
