Job Description

MAIN OBJECTIVES: As the Stores Manager for the Horsham area, the individual will play a pivotal role in the effective leadership and development of the stores team. Accountable for managing Goods Receiving, Inventory Management, Kitting,and Logistics between the Southwater and Pulborough sites, the focus will be on identifying opportunities for process improvement and increased productivity while maintaining a consistently high level of service provision to both Engineering and Manufacturing.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Supervise team activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, and internal customer service.
  2. Communicate issues and opportunities at the stores to Operational management in a timely and professional manner.
  3. Promote a safe working environment with best practices for safety.
  4. Establish and assess KPIs routinely to drive efficiencies and maximize resource utilization.
  5. Schedule and oversee the stores team, managing workflow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
  6. Analyze productivity and develop actionable plans for loss prevention.
  7. Oversee and manage logistics for transporting products between facilities, ensuring efficient delivery and/or collections by communicating with drivers.
  8. Ensure adherence to the cycle counting procedure, highlighting potential inventory or Lot Control issues.
  9. Lead recruitment, training, and performance monitoring of individuals and the team.
  10. Identify and implement opportunities for increased reuse/recycling to reduce environmental impacts associated with packaging material waste.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reduce environmental impacts associated with packaging material waste.
  • Adhere to the Company’s ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, and Health and Safety management systems.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
  1. Proven track record in managing a complex stores operation within the manufacturing sector, preferably in an electronics environment.
  2. Lean Six Sigma certified Green Belt or above.
  3. Qualified to IoSCM Level 6 or above, or equivalent.
  4. Strong interpersonal and motivational leadership skills.
  5. Ability to work well under pressure and motivate the team to deliver exceptional service.
  6. Good understanding and experience of materials management within ERP, experience in using Glovia G2 is advantageous.
  7. Electrical/Electronic component recognition is an advantage.
