Job Description

NRS has an exciting new SCRUM MASTER role, for a Global business - based from home and office - Horsham, Crawley, SussexReporting to the Chief Operating Office within CRS/ Finance and UK Change team.Due to the nature of this role our client requires the Scrum Master to have financial services experience within FCA business and first hand knowledge of how FCA Conduct Rules. You will need a Scrum Master Certificate.EXPERIENCEYou need experience of handling numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc).The role requires the post holder to have excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with scrum team and stakeholders Experience of coaching teams in organisations where Scrum not fully adopted and understood.You must demonstrate on your CV your proven track record of:

  • working with multiple teams and stakeholders, to drive performance improvement across the organisation.
  • managed end to end delivery of primarily agile projects, of varying sizes and complexity and budget dependent on individual capability and experience.
  • managed project costs, benefits risks, issues and dependencies, including with IS and other delivery plans, to enable the achievement of business outcomes
  • ROLE PURPOSEThe purpose of this role is to make sure a Scrum team lives by the values and practices of Scrum, managing the end-to-end delivery of complex system solutions, through delivery of primarily agile projects.Ensuring that the solution development team functions as a whole meets its objectives; working with the team to plan and co-ordinate all aspects of product delivery at the detailed level, and using strong interpersonal skills to identify and engage with stakeholders and manage all ongoing communications.You will also work with other Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of the application of Scrum in the organisation.Supports strategic direction of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) adoption across UK Change, playing a proactive role in promoting SAFe methods and standards throughout the organisation.Enacts Scrum values and practices, supporting the team to become cross functional and increase throughputFocuses the team to ensure an on-time delivery of the agreed products, encouraging full participation of team members within their defined roles and responsibilities.Assembles, manages, motivates and coaches project staff and teams to deliver agreed project objectives,Ensures that the iterative development process is properly focused and controlled and that all testing and review activity is properly scheduled and carried out.Manages risks and issues at the Development Timebox level, escalating to the Project Manager or Technical Co-ordinator as required.Monitors progress on a day-to-day basis for all team activities and facilitates Scrum Ceremonies ensuring they are timely, focused and brief.Reports on progress ensuring projects comply with NRS’S CLIENT methodology and governance.Adopts a continuous improvement approach continually looking to increase transparency and improve decision support across the UK Change communityWorking with other Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of the application of Scrum in the organisationFUNCTION/ TECHNICAL SKILLSScrum expert and Advisor - First level Scrum Master certificationExperience of playing the Scrum Master role for at least two yearsExcellent skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continualCUSTOMER CONDUCT FRAMEWORK• Understand how FCA Conduct Rules apply to you as an employee of NRS’S CLIENT and specifically, how they apply to this role and understand NRS’S CLIENT’s Conduct Framework, how it applies to this role, and the behaviours / actions that you need to demonstrate in consistently delivering good customer outcomes improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency• Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc)• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with scrum team and stakeholders Experience of coaching teams in organisations where Scrum not fully adopted and understood.• Proven track record of working with multiple teams and stakeholders, to drive performance improvement across the organisationDECISION MAKING AUTHORITY/ IMPACT• Challenging and influencing senior level stakeholders in assessing overall level of risk on their programmes and projects.• Facilitating escalation of risks and issues to higher authorityThis may suit someone who is a scrum master, project manager, scrum of scrum master, programme managerThis is commutable from , Crawley, Horsham, worthing, Brighton, Guildford, Hove, Surrey, Sussex, Chichester, Haywards Heath, Bognor Regis, Tonbridge, Guildford, Farnborough, Epsom, Camberley, Woking.
